Tiles as an art form have been around a very long time, sometimes just utilitarian, more often combining design and usefulness. Mine are all individual pictures using clay and glazes instead of oils or water colours, building up layers of colour and texture as a painter would with pigment.

Inspiration for these again comes from the west country coastline, seabirds, and gardens. Some of them highly colourful and some using a more restricted palette. Lately I have been combining small pieces of driftwood, porcelain and other small found objects to describe and interpret the ancient landscape of Penwith in Cornwall.
